Working with the Metabolic Rate for Weight Loss

I’ve recently come across an awful lot of clients who have weight problems who have cleared their emotional attachments to weight but who still cannot lose weight, I’ve  discovered by working with them that the Metabolic Rate is too slow.  With Hypnotherapy it is possible to increase the rate at which the Metabolic Rate works and with two treatments it can be sorted and you can keep an eye on how the situation is progressing, it definitely puts the control back into your hands.  If you would like to know more about this treatment, then please hit the contact button and get in touch.

I do normally like to clear the emotions around weight gain because it’s your body’s way of saying ‘I have a problem please deal with it’.  Nobody likes to have too much weight around them, even if it is a case of liking food too much, why do you like food too much?  You too can  be helped.  So please do get in touch and I will certainly do my best to help you get to your desired size.

Thyroid and weight problems

Do you have Weight Problems?

Do you suffer Mood Swings?

Do you seem to be putting on Weight for no Apparent Reason?

The thyroid can have a profound affect on weight gain/loss.  Hypothyroidism can be caused by a slow metabolic rate due to the hypothalamus not producing the right amount of hormones for the pituitory gland to send to the thyroid for the body to function properly, this can cause lethargy, lack of stimulating hormones and giving problems for weight gain.   Do you tend to eat more carbohydrates in your diet?  This is good if you’re an athlete but not so good for an office worker or have a sedentary life style as this is the way to increase weight.

Do you eat your meals late in the evening after seven o’clock, as the food that you eat at this time of night causes the digestive system to be either sluggish or the food sits heavily in the stomach until the morning.  There are control panels in the hypothalamus which can be put up or down according to the problem which helps to bring the metabolic rate back to normal which in turn automatically helps to lose weight. (Signs of Thyroid problems must be checked by your Doctor).

Having had an overactive Thyroid which was very unpleasant but taught me a lot, I found going to a Kinesiologist paid dividends as I was extremely thyrotoxic and had a thyroxin count of 67 (25 is the usual amount of thyroxin the body produces) so I know how helpful from first-hand experience vitamins and minerals can be, an invaluable help for putting right the thyroid.

I was told that there was no cure for an overactive thyroid and that I had to either kill it off with Carbimazole tablets, Radio Active Iodine, or have an operation and have it chopped. I asked if there was another way to proceed, but was told ‘no’, those were my only options.  I had an innate feeling that there was another way forward.  I had suffered the situation for about two years so was well down the road of all the symptoms, being out of breath when climbing stairs or going for a walk, having to pace myself when doing gardening or any kind of manual work, shaking from my feet up and not being able to hold a camera still to be able to take good pictures, my eyes were out on stalks and I had a goiter. I had had an allergy to nickel since a teenager and thought I had to live with it but it was all part and parcel of what was wrong with me.

I was very pleased when I was told of an excellent Kinesiologist who was able to tell me, within an hour, what was wrong. I had very little manganese in my body and needed 50mgs straight away and my body actually needed 100 mgs but had to wait 3 weeks before I could take the 100 mgs.  I then had to add other vitamins and minerals to bring my body back to balance (this all happened in 1999/2001) and today my thyroid is working well.

All these things happened when I was also going through the menopause, so my own thinking on this is that the menopause triggered the thyroid which was already suffering from a lack of manganese, which caused my body to lose the rest of the manganese that I had.  11 years on and I still have to check my manganese levels occassionally, if I suffer a lot of hiccoughs, or I find swallowing dryish food difficult these are the main tell tale signs that my manganese levels are down.

Vitamins and minerals also help the body to work more efficiently. Vitamin B complex helps with hormonal problems, menopausal, overweight, thyroid problems both under and overactive, but it’s important to find out the root cause of either one and get the correct treatment.

To get help with weight problems Iam only a click away to make an appointment, but please see your doctor first to make sure there are no other underlying causes and let him know that you are seeking the help of a hypnotherapist/reflexologist.

CFS/ME

Are you suffering from Chronic Fatigue Syndrome/Myalgic Encephalopathy?

Having worked with several clients with this very debillitating syndrome I have found that at some point in life they have over done it and the body has decided to go into decline which left them feeling as though they had no energy, hence chronic fatigue.

Getting back to the original cause for over doing it, with hypnotherapy the client is taken back to the root cause which is cleared and any other relevant area to the situation, then I use colour healing to increase the energy levels.  To work on the physical level to balance the mind, body and spirit I would finish off with Reflexology.  It sounds as though I can clear CSF/ME in three sessions, that isn’t necessarily the case as it depends upon how much work needs to be addressed and how much can be cleared in any one session.

Hiatus Hernia

What is Hiatus Hernia and how can it be helped?

Hiatus Hernia is caused by a protrusion of an organ, typically the stomach through the oesophageal opening in the diaphragm, it causes untold discomfort when swallowing food and is a very difficult physical operation to work on.

I discovered many years ago how to help this situation without having to go through a painful operation and have had many successes.  What I do helps the protrusion go back into place and as the oesophagus is like a rolled up sleeve, is pulled back down. If you would like help or you know of anyone suffering, please pass on this information and I would be only too pleased to help and answer their questions.

Allergies

Allergies are not always what they seem, for example, I was diagnosed with urticaria because I had a dreadful allergy to deep sea fish, Cod, Haddock, Plaice.  It was so bad that when I ate a piece of chicken or turkey that had been fed on fishmeal I knew about it and was immediately ill.  I have worked on the situation and can now eat all fish as often as I wish without any nasty side affects.

What did you do to heal yourself? I hear you ask.

The big question to as ask yourself is, not what you are allergic to, but WHO are you allergic to.  I was allergic to my ex husband, who, at that time was Captain with an oil company who travelled deep sea, I was not a happy bunny to say the least so getting divorced was the best thing I could have done, but even so I had to work at desensitising myself.  There are several ways of doing this, hypnotherapy helps, but EFT, EMDR and Emotrance are three other ways as they all work energetically, it’s clearing the mental blocks that is so important.

A lot of these debilatating dis-eases are hereditory, have a look back over your family and see if there is anyone else who has suffered the same or similar things as yourself.

If you would like more information on this subject, please send me an email and I’ll answer your questions as fully as I can.

I am not an Emotrance Therapist yet, but I do know of someone in Cornwall who is and whom can help.

Peter’s Testimonial

‘In desperation I sought the help of a specialist as I was in angony suffering from gout in my big toe.

As a keen sportsman, and coastal path walker there was an urgent need to ease the discomfort and contue with my persuits.

After less than one hour’s specialist attention the pain had virtually disappeared.   The professional treatment was both soothing and relaxing, administered in a patient and sympathetic manner.  I left the session not only walking on air, but also feeling mentally stimulated.

I would be happy to recommend this bespoke attention and will certainly remain in close contact in case future aches and pains re-occur’.

Yours truly,

Peter R

Do You Need Help To Clear Your Fears

Are you almost afraid of your own Shadow?

Are you constantly worrying about your financial situation?

Do you constantly have things going around in your head and don’t seem able to do anything about them?

Fears are a major form of stress, the way to deal with fears is to see it from a positive perspective.  Are you afraid of failure, have you been told that you are useless and it leaves you feeling hopeless and helpless.   Think of it in terms of failure as success turned round, if we don’t have failures then we will never learn lessons, and those people that make you afraid are actually doing you a big favour by impressing on you the opposite of what you want to feel.  Do you look at a glass as being half full or half empty?  Make it a positive statement and look at the glass as being half full everytime, in that way you can always fill the glass to the top, if you see it as half empty then you can never fill it.

The negative side of fear is: False Experiences Appearing Real, the positive side of fear is: Feeling Excited and Ready, doesn’t it feel so much better when you say you are feeling excited and ready rather than false experiences appearing real?  For every negative there is a positive and for every problem there is a solution so don’t look at the problem look for the solution.  Affirmations are very good for getting rid of fears and living in harmony with yourself, but I don’t take fears for granted, they do feel real and they do make you feel very uncomfortable, and it is very important to find the antidote to your fears, with hypnotherapy and emotional freedom technique, fears CAN be over come.

A lot of fears can be carried around with you from childhood, which run you in adulthood, the inner child is trying to give you information about your fears but as he/she is only about 3 years old they don’t know how to get their message across.  A childhood message could be ‘I’m afraid of being left on my own’ which means you are afraid of rejection, perhaps your parents had a divorce when you young which would leave you feeling very vulnerable and rejected by one of them as they no longer lived together, it could also mean that you may have taken the blame for their divorce, as a child you wanted everything to be like the fairy tale everything is wonderful and turns out just right, instead it turned out all wrong which causes the child a lot of confusion.

Give me a call and I will chat with you free for 15 minutes to see how I can help with that difficult situation that you are having to deal with.  In these very difficult economic times fears can over come you and make you feel very powerless, changing the thoughts can make you feel very strong and you CAN empower yourself.

Panic Attacks

Do you suffer from panic attacks?

Do you find yourself going into overload and can’t cope?

Do you suffer from things like agoraphobia, or afraid of flying?

These are very prevalent things to people who suffer from these debilatating thoughts and feelings, they can be very limiting in what they allow themselves to do.  In setting limits it restricts where they can go and what they can do, and the panic attack seems to appear from nowhere for no good reason.  If this sounds like you, I can help you get out of these situations with hypnotherapy and emotional freedom technique, you will be able to see yourself expanding your world and tap away your fears.  It all sounds too good to be true but with the right kind of help you can do a lot to relieve the symptoms that you suffer from and can begin to live the life you want to live.

Taking responsibility for your healing goes a long way to helping you to recover from over powering thoughts.  A thought is a thought but can be a very strong thought that holds you in a situation you seem powerless to do anything about, but thoughts can be changed so that you can empower yourself and see life from a very different perspective.

If you like what you are reading then give me a call and I will give you fifteen minutes free chat so that we can discuss how you can be helped to move from where you are now to where you want to be.

The Chakra System

What is the Chakra System?

How can it help with healing?

>The chakra system consists of seven major energy vortexes but there are many minor chakras throughout the body. The seven main energy vortexes are to be found in a straight-line up and down the spinal column, starting at the base or first chakra, which is to be found right down at the base of the spine in front of the coccyx.

This chakra is know in Sanskrit as the Muladhara – The root is your connection to the earth, with the energy running down through the legs, knees, feet and lower limbs and so is your get up and go. It affects the adrenal glands – fight or flight and survival. The element is earth and so it supports growth and stability.

The emotional element of anger is very emotional and very strong but the anger is short lived. People who cannot express their anger have problems. The spiritual aspect of it is being grounded and protected. This chakra is linked to the throat chakra. Overactive traits are to do with wars, wanting land, oil and the ‘I want syndrome’. Under active traits are to do with being doormats or being walked all over.

The Sacral Chakra – Hara or second chakra is to be found in the lower abdomen between the navel and the genitals, just inside the sacrum. The Sanskrit word is Svadhistana – Sweetness. The element is water – energy, movement, slow, problems when it stagnates. The function is desire, enjoyment and sex. The glands it affects are the ovaries and the testes, so it affects the genitals, bladder, large intestines, kidneys and reproductive system and so is creating and eliminating (flow).

The colour is orange. The physical attributes are emotional, balance, sexuality, elimination, detoxify, touch, stress and trauma. The spiritual aspect is to repair the templates for the rest of the body, so is good with resilient symptoms or recurring problems – etheric level. Over active traits are destructive driven by fear, (FEAR is: negative aspect: False Experiences Appearing Real or positive aspect:Feeling Excited and Real) obsessive/compulsive.

Under active traits are to do with having fun, desires, the pleasure of life, flow. It can create flow on any level such as helps to clear constipation. It is linked with the third Eye Chakra – flow between people.

The Solar Plexus or Third Chakra is located between the navel and the base of the sternum. The Sanskrit word is Manipura – Lustrous Gem. The element is Fire – a blistering quality. The function is to organize everything especially information in the body. Digest-food, information of all types absorbs and assimilates – good and bad. The glands it affects are the Pancreas – Islets of Langerhans for digestion as well as sugar levels – the adrenals are a sub function. The colour is yellow. The physiological effects are complex. Stomach, small intestines, liver, gall bladder, spleen and pancreas. The nervous systems – sympathetic – parasympathetic – immune system. The physical attributes are personal power, self will – skin and all others listed above. The emotional effects are joy, happiness, contentment/sadness, fear, anxiety, and detachment. The spiritual aspect is knowing who you are, discernment.

Overactive traits are perfectionist, wanting the best consumerism, realizing you are trying to integrate a mission. Part of your makeup. Under active traits are feeling alone and isolated, don’t know where they fit in. Alienation and eating disorders. Plexus means a junction box joining, so there is a mass of chakras there. The sun is the primary source of this chakra. Phobias – disorganized information, also worry.

The Heart or Fourth Chakra is located in the centre of the sternum. The Sanskrit word is Anahata – Instruct – a vibration waiting to happen. The element is air – movement, never static, connecting qualities.

The function is associated with relating and interchanging of energy – going out/coming in. The glands it affects are the thymus, part of the immune system, and where the T cells come from. The physiological effects are Heart plus Lungs, Thymus, Throat/Heart. The colour is green.

The physical attributes are nature, growth, decay, affects are balancing, not static. Love (not static) boundaries and envy. The mental state is a sense of independence, freedom. Inhibition, repression (by self or others) the games people play.

Over active traits are very anxious, always under emotional stress, not anchored, control freaks. Under active traits are: jealousy, envy, feeling powerless. Asthmatics have problems breathing out usually because of a traumatic situation so are not able to let the breath go, holding on. What you should be holding onto and what you should let go of.  So the emotional problems are often about trying to freeze love. The power parents have over their children.   Control – learning self-discipline, not overstepping the mark, over controlling, controlling others or being controlled. Self-worth/self-value, renewal.

The Throat or Fifth Chakra is located at the throat. The Sanskrit word is Vishudda – Purification. The element is air or ether/space and the vessel that holds sound and speech. The function is to flow with communication (not always verbal). The glands it affects are the Thyroid, Parathyroid – regulates calcium levels, energy, and metabolic rate. The physiological effects are ear, nose and throat areas, neck and glands. The colour is sky blue and the physical attributes are as in physiology – the capacity to speak, to communicate, hear, and listen. The emotional effect is peace, calm/cool, aloof, and cold. Mental aspect is full of doubt, philosophy/fanatic, and fundamentalist. The spiritual aspect is clairvoyance, clairaudience etc., and subtle skills.

Overactive traits are verbal diarrhea and rambling speech. The underactive traits are withdrawal, shut down, agoraphobia. When the throat chakra is working really well, people see things as they really are, without fear of their own stuff. Fear of public speaking – throat plus all the other chakras below. This chakra is the space which the others can all come through and is linked to the 1st Chakra.

The Third Eye Chakra is located in the centre of the forehead. The Sanskrit word is Ajna – perceive, or to command. The element is light and the function is seeing, perceiving and intuition. The gland affected is the Pineal (light sensitive). The physical attribute is vision, and can get headaches. The emotional aspect is: can get disconnected plus isolated if it is never used. The mental aspect is clarity, the ability to spot patterns and making sense of things. The spiritual aspect is: Inner knowing, more universal knowing than the solar plexus. The overactive traits are: Sleeplessness, unwanted thoughts (plus not being able to shut them off). The underactive traits are what most consider being normal. The Third Eye is an informative centre linked to the logical, mental side of the solar plexus. The Third Eye is meant to be open plus intuitive and perceptive also things that are non physical.

The Seventh Chakra is located at the top, the Crown just above the head. The Sanskrit word is Sahasnara – Thousand Petaled Lotus. The element is thought and function is: The capacity to understand.

The glands that are affected are the Pituitary Gland – Master gland of the endocrine system in two parts which complement each other, as does the brain. The physiological aspect is to do with balance in the brain, and the colours are white, pink and gold. The physical aspect is left and right hemispheres, dyslexia, and dyspraxia, left logic, right intuitive, plus the brain, spinal cord, and nervous system.

The emotional state is bliss, empathy/depression, and confusion. The mental aspect is meditation, learning difficulties, and can be a fine line between reality and illusion. The spiritual aspect is the individual’s link with the infinite.

Overactive traits are space cadet, overzealous healer who doesn’t look after themselves, and martyrs. Under active traits are normal. It isn’t actually right to shut this chakra down, if completely closed you are dead, but it can be closed down to some degree. It is a difficult energy to keep steady unless backed up by the 1st, 2nd and 3rd chakras, but this chakra is linked to the Solar Plexus. The ideal outcome is to be enlightened and practical.

All the above information helps one to understand how the body, mind and spirit work together to make up the whole, and how emotional energy is stored in the body.  The colours of the Chakras help with healing on a subtle level.  If we don’t have colours in our systems we suffer from depression and mania, it is very important to keep the chakras balanced because out of balance makes us feel very unwell.
